Where do I begin... For an 'upscale' restaurant, which I heard was going to be spectacular, I was absolutely blown away at how lousy this place was. Starting with the snooty maitre d host who was anything but welcoming. As a group of 13 people some of whom were regulars there, one would assume the host would have gone out of his way to see that we had a great experience. Instead, I was served a large dish of attitude complimented with an audible sigh and roll of the eyes (!!) when I asked if he could come back to me for my order since I had not yet made a decision. Next lets talk about the music. There was a lovely piano player singing Italian songs, however once he turned on his karaoke machine for accompaniment, it was so loud and distorted that not only was the baby grand piano lost amidst the cheesy drum beats and backing tracks, but his voice was totally distorting the little speaker and it sounded terrible. It was so loud that we could hardly talk to the person sitting across from one another. I politely asked the host if they could lower the music so we could hear the piano and so we could have conversation at the table. His response was quick and dismissive - 'No! that is up to the singer, not me!' ...wow Nobody was excited about their food. The Bread was stale. The salad was pre-made, over-dressed, and the cucumbers were translucent and rubbery. The mushroom pasta was bland and over-cooked. There were a lot of unfinished plates left, an unusual site in this group. One comment from our table was, 'I couldn't put enough pepper on the dish to give it any flavor'. I don't know if it was the food here, or from something else earlier in the day, but I ran to the bathroom and was sick twice (and I have a strong stomach). Needless to say, I couldn't get beyond the first few bites of my pasta, let alone on to the desserts. To put the icing on the cake, as the bill arrived (bearing in mind at 13 people this was a big one), we were informed casually that they had added a $10/person charge to the bill for the 'band'! What?? an additional $130 from our table alone for music that we complained about? We were not informed about any music fees when we arrived, there was no sign posted, no tickets to buy, just a lousy karaoke pianist blaring through a small speaker so loud that it hurt to be in the room! This was the last straw, and after complaining, they made a phone call in the lobby (I know because I had to run to the bathroom one more time before leaving) and agreed to remove the $130 charge. To be fair, maybe I we just caught a bad night at the restaurant. After all, the folks who suggested Arturo's have a long history of enjoyable meals there. I will not be returning for a second go at it though. Sorry for the bad review, I hope it is helpful.

As an Italian who loves to cook, I think this was very very disappointing (aside from the dessert). I had pappardelle with mushrooms. The mushrooms were overcooked and did not taste fresh. The sauce was watery and had little flavor with too much salt. My friend had chicken scarpariello. It also looked like it had canned ingredients, and the chicken was dry. The canneloni was tasty but a little salty and wasn't the best quality meat, especially considering the price. This place is definitely not worth the price. I've had much better italian for a lot cheaper. Also, our waiter was practically kicking us out at the end of the meal, and it wasn't even that late. On a positive note, the flourless chocolate cake was delcious!! And, if you plan on going to Arturo's, skip the entree and get dessert. p.s. I also ate here several years ago and saw 2 roaches crawling up the wall next to my table.

we used to eat a Arturos when it was in Belrose ny and at that time the food was great but now the food was terrible. we spent $168.00 for two people and not only was it overpriced but the food was almost ineadable. the pasta appetizer was bland . I had the sweet breads which were very salty and the consistancyof rubber. My wife had the Saltimboca, at least it was supposed to be Saltimboca, also tastless. For desert we ordered Zabaoine which was supposed to be served over a scoop of vanilla ice cream with strawberrys. The ice cream was non exsistant and the zabaoine custard was watery. Not good I would not recommend this place to anybody. save your money and go to your local pizziera, you will get a better meal

Upon entering the restaurant, my wife and I were waiting for the other couple to park their car. We were greeted by a gentlemen (the owner) who seemed to have a snob problem - that is, he didn't seem that thrilled to see us. Maybe we weren't dressed to his liking or perhaps he was trying to convey that this was an upscale restaurant. Whatever. This was my (our) first time here, and it was a big disappointment. My wife said that it was okay, and had no complaints. But then again, she was busy having a conversation with a friend and getting caught up on all the latest gossip in our development. I, on the other hand, focused (as I usually do) on the food and service. I agree with the reviewer who said "it sucks." First of all, we sat in the Garden Room (at the suggestion of the couple we were with, who had eaten here many times). It was a lovely room, BUT the piano playing was so loud I could hardly hold a conversation, let alone think. I noticed that one couple moved their table to the far end of the room to escape the noise. The food, at least to me, was mediocre at best. I ordered the Caesar Salad for Two - Prepared table-side ($20), which I shared with someone else at the table. I've had better at much less expensive restaurants. It had an overwhelming lemony taste and I couldn't taste any anchovies. It was not good. For my meal, I ordered Grigliata Mista - Grilled snapper, prawns, salmon, sea scallops and grilled vegetables ($28). There was one of each on the plate, and the grilled vegetables consisted of 3 slices of soggy egg plant. The fish was okay, but not worth the money. It should have been memorable -which it wasn't. The wine list (by the glass) really sucks. I expected better, and finally settled for St. Supery Sauvignon Blanc ($10). My wife said that her veal saltimboca ($28) was just all right, nothing exceptional. The veal was tender but she has had better. She did love her Lemon Drop martini, however. The desserts were the salvation. The strawberry shortcake was delicious. The service was very spotty. I felt that we were being ignored at the expense of larger parties. We had to ask for more bread twice. My wife told me that she had eaten lunch here quite some time ago, and loved the white glove service. What happened? If I'm going to spend this kind of money again, I will go back to Wild Olives in Boca Raton. Far superior!

Sure it is fun to sing with the Piano man and Francis Ford Coppola (He really was there) but the smell when you walk in is foul. It is a cross between Bourbon Street @ midnight on Fat Tuesday, and the Palm Beach water treatment plant. If you can get over the smell, your next task is to get past the maitre d' aka hostess guy. If you are not wearing what he likes, you will be banished to a far away table or the back room. I do like the food, and the population looks like the waiting room for heaven or hell (if you believe in that kind of stuff). The dishes that are made at the table are great! I am a huge fan of the pasta that is made with cognac and the veal chop parm. The food is good, but the smell and snob at the door is tough to overcome. The food is a solid 8 1/2 / 10. Helen Keller would give high nines but asking my friends to keep it down when we were the only people in the whole place gets you some jack ass points, and has definitely cost them one star. (They were not even that bad) That kind of stuff bothers the heck out of me. When it is a special night out, and there is someone who pisses you off that makes the night memorable for the wrong reason. Your experience should not be altered negatively by the people running the show. If your looking for great Italian there are better cheaper places that will make you feel welcome. Thats how I feel. I am not a fan. New ownership comes in, I am there.

For this typically excellent restaurant, last night, Valentines Day, was not fun. We walked in and there were at least 50 people in the waiting area. Even though we had a reservation, they told us they overbooked and we had to wait to be seated. We had a glass of wine (which was difficult to get at the 15 foot bar), and after an hour, left and went down the street for dinner. Will never return to Arturo's again, as they are chasing the almighty dollar, not passionate about the dining experience.

This old-school, special occaision restaurant is owned by a New York family and it is the real McCoy! The enormous steaks & chops, combined with a thick book of a wine list and botoxed rich widows listening to the crooning pianist, are all part of the charm. We like to come here for birthdays and Anniversaries whenever we visit the blessed holy land of Boca Raton. Oh - and bring a big appetite and big money.

This is one one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten at. The service is impeccable & the food is close to none. You will not leave hungry. It is formal & expensive but well worth it.

Had been previously and had a nice evening so I decided to bring my mother there. I specifically made a reservation by the piano in order to see the pianist. They gladly took my reservation not informing me that pianist was not there on Mondays. When we arrived after driving 30 miles, we were very disappointed when the owner said no pianist on Mondays. When I asked why I wasn't told this when I specifically made the reservation based on pianist, she lied and then said maybe pianist cancelled last minute. We tried to make the best of it after driving some distance. My mother wasn't feeling well as waiter seemed annoyed while we tried to find something light for her to eat. We decided to settle on antipasto platter for each of us and I ordered a glass of wine. The antipasto was very disappointing. My mother stayed sick in the bathroom for some time. Neither the owner nor waiter asked about her or the food nor offered to not charge for her dish untouched. I looked worried about her and checked on her several times walking past the owner. I quickly asked for bill so we could leave. Was thrilled to pay over $50 for about 10 minutes there and untouched food. I have had evenings where I spent over $200 there but won't return after this experience!

We were looking forward to a nice meal at an upscale restaurant. Arturo's is a very pretty place. The wait staff are well dressed and courteous. In other words, the initial impression is a very positive one. A bread basket was placed on our table with butter and a small dish of pesto...the pesto was delicious. The bread, however, tasted like a poorly made in-house product. We started off with an appetizer of fried calimari and small shrimp, which were o.k., but came with an overly spicy, terrible tasting marinara sauce. I ordered the mixed grilled seafood plate, which came with a small bowl of their disgusting marinara sauce, which is runny and tastes something like loose ketchup. The worst part of this plate was, that every piece of seafood was totally overcook...DRIED OUT! To add insult to injury, as we left, the host and the hostess barely turned around to say goodnight, and, of course, nobody was interested in asking whether we enjoyed our meal We will never go back.

The best ItaIian food this side of Italy. A very upscale restaurant with great authentic Italian entertaiment and dancing. The staff was very pleasant and professional. I will definately be back and pass the word to my friends.

Stopped in for a late lunch will vacationing. It was truly a unique experience. The staff is excellent, as is the food. We started with the Anti Pasta cart, which was fantastic. I had the pasta carbonara, and my wife had the Alfredo special with scallops. A lovely little jewel tucked away on Federal Hwy in Boca.

This place is really spectacular. A "Boca Institution". Arturo's has all the trappings of a fine establishment transplanted from New York. Funny I should write that, their menu states that they originated in Long Island. I suppose they moved down here with all the other "snowbirds" who could not bear the bitter cold of the north but also could not stand the bitter taste of the local cuisine d' faire (no idea if that's a real statement, just thought it sounded good). Make sure to try the mobile antipasto cart. Your waiter will wheel a giant cart filled with all kinds of little goodies, and make you a plate of antipasto to get your appetite going. Then, the craziness will commence where all our plates (three: my parents and myself) were superb. We ordered two desserts and they were likewise scrumptious. Arturo's definitely does not overdue the alcohol in the tiramisu, which is the downfall of so many mediocre restaurants. Arturo's is Italian with a slant toward seafood. The restaurant has two (maybe more) rooms, one slightly fancier-seeming than the other which is reminiscent of a sun or day room.

Very high end. Please dress formal/semi formal. Don't walk in here with your bathing suit and flip flops. Arturo's is one of the oldest and still successful restaurants in the North Boca area. The staff are very knowledgeable, patient, professional, and caring. The owner appears once in awhile to greet you and your party. I had the opportunity to dine here with friends one evening (it was the last day that they were going to be open; they will be closed until August I believe), there were many special occasions going on at the same time and that is one of the things that is neat about this restaurant. It's perfect for a wedding reception, a birthday celebration, a business dinner, an anniversary date, impressing your first date. The food is phenomenal. Both land and sea food are off the charts. Fresh, flavorful, and great presentation. I don't mean to boast but this is coming from someone who dined in for her first time with Arturo's. There really isn't one thing that I can say poorly about this place. If you haven't been here yet, you must try it out. My favorite thing has to be when the servers bring out the desserts and it is on a cart with three shelves (It reminds me of dim sum but Italian style lol).

The food was delicious. Presentation is great, appetizer cart...wonderful. However, An easy hour meal turned into 2 and a half for 2 people. Unfortunately the service is lacking, waited a half hour to order the apps, got our food another half hour and the server is now disappears yet again and going on 25 for dessert. Terrible service. For a place of this caliber...service is horrible, utter cluster fuck. Five star for food and generously giving 3 overall.r

Absolutely Spectacular! I don't know how this place doesn't get 5 stars from everyone. We had a family dinner here (5ppl) and everyone loved it! Here are some notes: Service: Our waiter was so great, we asked for his name so we can request him when we return (it was Carlos, in case you were wondering). He was funny, engaging, and very sweet & professional. It was quite crowded, so there was a delay in getting our order taken, but not enough to complain about. Food: holy smokes we were blown away! We ordered the octopus tartare special, caprese, prosciutto+melon, Caesar salad for 2, linguine with clams, veal Marsala, other veal dish with prosciutto that I can't think of the name right now, tiramisu, other dessert cart item, and the tableside bananas foster. Would not change a thing. Not a single thing. From what I had, the best app was the prosciutto with melon appetizer, both veal dishes were awesome, and bananas foster was so cool to watch him make from scratch and, more importantly, very delicious. Ambience: Classic, old school Italian. Dress is rather nice. There was a pianist playing in the background and at times someone would sing as well from Sinatra to Unchained Melody to idk. There was the sweetest elder couple dancing the waltz every so often too. It was adorable. Then - FLAMES! They will make some of the dishes (like the bananas foster) tableside for you and light the fire nice and big for dramatic effect. It's pretty stinkin cool. Price: well worth it. Then again, I wasn't paying. Either way, this place is worth a 2nd, 3rd and 4th trip. Maybe too expensive for a regular date night, but perfect for an occasion (like my next birthday or anniversary dinner!)

Had a client dinner here and it was very enjoyable. I used to frequent Arturo's back in the 90's when I lived in the area and not much has changed (in a good way). The atmosphere here is romantic and upscale. They have a piano player which makes it even more special. The service is impeccable with servers who have been here for years. They start off with bruschetta and bring over olives and fresh cheese - all delish. One of my most favorite things here is their appetizer cart - it has grilled vegetables, seafood salad, olives, grilled eggplant, roasted peppers, and their famous, delicious torta - which is a must try - don't ask - just have it. For dinner I had veal Milanese - which is a veal chop, pounded thin, topped with arugula salad which was wonderful. My co-diner had branzino, which was wonderful. What I love here is dinner is always a relaxing, unrushed experience. After dinner we shared a dessert from their amazing dessert cart (crème brulee). Oh, and their wine list is amazing. Still a classy place for a great dinner.

I am very surprised at some of the negative reviews on this site. This place is fabulous ! Excellent service and food, and what a great wine list. Ok not a bargin hunters place but prices where very fare. This will be our new go to place. I had Zuppa D' pecse and my wife had the whole Bronzino both where terrific we started with an assortment of appetizers from the cart and everything was very good. Finished with freshly stuff cannoli and we were bogged Wowed. If you like a Italian restaurant with old world charm this is it !

We found Arturo's accidentally, after shopping nearby. It looked like a nice place from the outside, so we tried it. I could not be happier! This was the best Italian meal I've had, anywhere in the world. It's a white-linen environment, chandeliers, waiters in tuxedos... but I was in shorts. Even so, the staff made us feel welcome and tended to our every need. Our waiter, Giovanni, was superb and very friendly. The enormous cart of appetizers is not to be missed - try one or try all, it is by the plate. Definitely try the torte. For main course I had the Dover Sole, it was flawless. Fresh and light, w/ a delicate sauce. The Tira Misu was exemplary, made as it should be without shortcuts. I couldn't ask for more. I can't wait to go back again and again. Also of note, the piano player knew every Sinatra song ever written, having accompanied him in the past. He was really good, though the electronic background was not really necessary. The maître d was a bit haughty, but I wasn't dressed, and I actually like to have a little bit of aloofness. To me it says that he is guarding the gate to something special, and I feel that is what we found at Arturo's.

We were seated immediately. The restaurant was about 80% full. We were right on time for reservationsat 7 o'clock. The food was absolutely outstanding. I would recommend going there to anyone. The food the people the service was really outstanding.we had six people there and were very very happy! The anti-Posto tray was to die for! Jim Paxton

The good: very nice ambiance and nice live piano music in the background. The seafood salad was tasteless, and the other entrees my party ordered were tasty but overpriced. My appetizer was served late, and the food was served way too fast in order to get us out so could have our table for the next seating.

It had to be to worst food the worst service I ever had the waiter came drop the food I never saw him till after the bus boy cleaned the table. The pasta was undercooked and cold. We were never asked how the meal was they seemmed as if they didn't even care.

The food is amazing from apps, the bread, entree to dessert! Extensive wine menu and excellent presentation! Authentic Italian experience right here in Boca without the over-crowded waits. You won't be disappointed!

Walking into this place I was expecting to be wowed by some A+ service and divine food. First, this place could benefit from a slight makeover and updating. It's very dingy and I felt like I stepped back in time to 1980. This place is supposed to be some Boca institution, but really it wouldnt hurt to catch up with the times. 8 of us sat down, the drink orders were prompt and the liquor was flowing. They had no prob with that. However, that's where the service faded. We sat down at 7, didn't get menus until 8:30. We ordered from the antipasto cart, which was good. I enjoyed the eggplant capponata, bean salad and a 'pie' made with mortadella, prosciutto and cheese. We finally got our dinners.... Others raved about their veal and steak, but they were pretty lit up by that point, so I suspect anything would have tasted good. I ordered linguine with clams/mussels. It was decent, def not the best I've had. The light sauce was rather lackluster and bland. Could have used some more garlic. The piano player was nice. All the yentas seemed to really enjoy his playing. I opted out of the dessert cart. I asked 3x for refills on my water, etc. I believe their M.O. is to get everyone wrecked, in hopes they will keep ordering off these carts that they kept offering. All in all, it was a mediocre, slow meal at best.

Not really worth going to. Don't waste your time. The only reason to go is if you're ravenously hungry and quality is not your concern. But even then you'll be disappointed since the service is so so slow. There are much better places to go for basic old-school Italian fare.

We have been to Arturo's several times now. Let me start with the reception area where the hostess is very friendly and accommodating. We were seated at the time if our reservation. The service was great, let me put a plug in for our waiter, Giovanni. The food was very good. Our group had various pastas, veal, fish, etc. The restaurant is one of the older one's in Boca Raton. It has the feel of Old Boca and it is not unusual to see elderly couples enjoying dinner in the best Palm Beach attire. They all have some music going on while you dine. You can also hear yourselves talk, which is a large plus. All and all it was a very good experience and would go back.

Not sure what people are talking about in these reviews. Have been there 3 times in the last 4 months. Had been there over 20 years ago for family gathering. Food service and wine list still fabulous. Yes a bit dated but nostalgic. Not the the " nouveau" atmosphere of today but a nostalgic fine dining, intimate experience.

They made us wait two hours for our dinner, and when the meal finally did come out, only some people got their food... then we waited another 30 minutes for the rest. Horrible service, rude staff. We got a private room for my Grandfather's 80th birthday party and he ruined our night. Horrible horrible horrible.!!!! the waiters badgered us over initial drinks and appetizers, when they weren't ignoring us, they were on top of us to order expensive, specialty drinks and over priced wines. our waiter spilled a full glass of diet coke on my elderly great-aunt, and barely cleaned it up. we were over charged for coffee for everyone (only a few ordered) and it was difficult to remove this from our bill. at the end of this unforgettably awful meal, we were approached by the owner of the restaurant, who said that the kitchen was busy, there's nothing we can do, and threw a $20 bill in our faces. needless to say we will never return to this restaurant, and will tell all of my friends, family, co workers, acquaintances and anyone else who cares to listen to do the same! BOOOO ARTURO"S!!

The time machine took me there! Formal style Italian restaurant with a piano (dean, frank etc) and traditional fine Italian food. The antipasto bar was excellent and the main courses were really good. I thought the wine list was extensive and had some really good expensive wines to choose from. I don't know what is! The food was good, the service was good, the wine was good, even the pianist was good. Yet it was a bit sad. It was as though it had been the same since the 70's. And it was quite expensive which might be why it was half empty. So in summary, if you are from New York, take your mother there she'll love it.

a terrible experience! We were there on a saturday night - very loud music so we could not hear ourselves talk. That was the first part. The service was so slow and rude - the waiter didn't bring us bread until we had to ask, and eve then we had to wait over 15 minutes to get the bread. The main course didn't come until over an hour after we finished our appetizers. No apologies, except to tell us that there were so many people there that night. That should not be an excuse - they know how many people made reservations and they should be prepared to serve them. Even after they knew we were upset, they made no effort to make us happy. They simply didn't care! With all the restaurants in the area, never go to this one!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
